PC-Doctor Message - How to remove?

Anonymous
2015-02-24T22:35:36+00:00

I keep getting the below message.  I have deleted, to the best of my knowledge, all folders titled PC –Doctor and PCDr.  I use a Dell computer and have read PC – Doctor can be traced to Dell Support Center.  I have deleted any reference to Dell Support Center.

Is there a process to keep this message from reoccuring?

    Hello Bill -

I wanted to get back to you.  As my last post said, I found PC-Doctor in my Registry and deleted it.  I thought that would take care of it.  Turns out, it did not and the PC-Doctor message reappeared.  I then used your suggestion to use Autorun.  Using that I found PC-Doctor located in other locations.  PC-Doctor is also tied to uaclauncher.exe.  It was surely an eye-opener the number of places PC-Doctor was located.  I thought I had deleted the most obvious locations, but that was not the case.

Anyway, as of this date using Autorun, it appears I finally deleted PC-Doctor from all of its locations. Thanks again for your suggestions.

    Hi,

It is probably a left over Startup Entry from Malware that has been removed by your Security Programs.

    Read this about PC Doctor.

"How to remove “PC Doctor” adware (Virus Removal Guide)"

    http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-pc-doctor-virus/

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

If problem remains after scanning, take those Entries out of Startup:

"How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista"

    http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig\_vista.html

You can also use this free Program to do that, too:

    "Autoruns for Windows"

    Cheers.

    You are welcome.

Autoruns is much better to use than msconfig for these sneaky ones with multiple entries under different names.

But as you found out, it is not simple to find them all.

I am glad you finally got them sorted out and thank you for the reply.

    Cheers.

Thanks Bill for the input.  Except for the Autorun option, I had done the other options and more.  Anyway, I decided to take the plunge and go to my Registry.  In there I found the software PC-Doctor and deleted it.  I’m hoping that will fix the issue.  Need to wait a couple of days to see if the message reappears.
