Split from this thread.

My research has shown that people are experiencing this problem after installing Malwarebytes.... but unfortunately it has persisted even after that program has been uninstalled.  I have not found a fix for it yet.  It is indeed crazymaking.  If anyone can find a fix, please let us know!!!!!

I don't have Malwarebytes and still have no sound from my Toshiba laptops internal speakers.I only have sound if I  use ear buds or a head set.

Some other research I've done says that Toshiba has an internal hardware problem regarding sound, and that the laptop's sound doesn't work after awhile (I've had mine for about 3 yr) but that if you plug in externals, those will work sometimes.  Dang Toshiba.  Last time I'll buy one.

So it is possible that you are experiencing the Toshiba hardware issue as well.  If I find out anything else, I'll let you know.

OK so the speakers do play but won't stay on...I'll get this split before we continue and assume you are on w7 as you have not said otherwise. Please notify if that is not the case.

    Thanks - R

My Internal speakers are turned on .Checked to see if sound driver is up .to date and it is. Only way I have sound is if I plug in headset. If I unplug my headset i have sound from me internal speakers but only lasts for about 10min. then no sound.I can plug  in my head set again and sound returns but only for about another 10 mins and  then no sound.

    Hi Trudy

If you want help to try and resolve this it really needs to be a separate question (Naomi's should be too, but the two issues are different) - I can ask for it to be split, but I need to have confirmation (or otherwise) that your OS is windows7 and also, can you confirm that you have checked the speaker icon on the taskbar to open the mixer and check that your speakers show as turned on there. Thanks R.
