Will AutoCad LT 2015 run with Windows 10?

I would like to know if AutoCAD LT 2015 will be able to run on the new Windows 10 operating system?

When Windows released Windows 8 there were problems with AutoCAD LT 2013 and older.

AutoCAD LT 2014 and 2015 versions support Windows 8 and 8.1

Please let me know as I am considering purchasing AutoCAD 2015 to use with Windows 8.1 but would feel a lot better if I know that AutoCAD LT 2015 will also be able to run on Windows 10 in the event that I move to that operating system.

Regards,

Mitch

You need to note that Windows 10 is NOT for consumers at the moment. The only people running the system should be for testing only!

    Thanks for the information.

I am exactly sure how to go about the edit required but if go to Windows 10 I will need to find out.

I assume the value to be edited is to change from 4.6 back to 4.5?

Do you need to change the value back after the install?

I have heard that Microsoft will be offering a free upgrade to Windows 10 for Windows 8 and 8.1 users, I am using Windows 8.1 so it seems odd to me that they would upgrade to W10 from W8.1 without having the ability to run most current programs.

We use Quicken and QuickBooks 2014 which are hardly old programs and will they run without issue?

Seems to me that any programs that are of 2014 or 2015 vintage should just be able to run on W10.

I think there will a huge problem if people upgrade to W10 and then find a lot of there current programs will not run with out have to do a fix like you suggest in order for things to work.

    Regards

The process is not very consumer friendly but you can install and run Autocad 2015 on Windows 10. The main problem is that Win10 has .net framework version 4.6 while a check in the autocad setup checks for version 4.5.

A registry edit of the version number for .net for installation purposes did the trick to get the install to complete and a re-install of Visual Basics 2013 and a restart later Autocad 2015 runs flawlessly on WIndows 10.

I chatted with Autodesk and they said AutoCAD LT 2015 would not run on Windows 10.

Not so sure about that one, as it seems that Microsoft is going to offer a free upgrade of Windows 10 to Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users.

Would be a bit of an issue if software that ran on 8 and 8.1 did not work on WIndows 10.

I did purchase AutoCAD LT 2015 and it runs great on Windows 8.1 and in the future I will see if it actually can run on Windows 10.

I would make sure it ran on Windows 10 before I did an update from Windows 8.1

    Regards.
