Hi,
Just an update: I have tried several other resources, but still no solution. The issue has been escalated at Adobe, but still no one I have been in contact with has ever come across this problem. Any other suggestions here?

Hi,
I have a brand new laptop with Windows 8.1 and a numeric keypad included with the keyboard. The keyboard has Norwegian keys. I have a problem that's driving me crazy, and I have been to several other forums and talked to hardware and software support for my laptop and Adobe After Effects. Nobody so far has a clue how to fix this:
The HOME and END keys are used a lot in Adobe After Effects.. by themselves or with modifier keys ( shift, ctrl, alt, etc.)
I have the following two methods on my keyboard for HOME and END:
Method 1. Use the Fn modifier key, and press one of two keys labeled "PgUp/Home" and "PgDn/End". This does work in AE (and every other program), but it's less than ideal to use the Fn key.. epecially since there are other shortcuts in AE where other modifying keys are used in combo with HOME and END.
Method 2. Turn Num-Lk off, and use the 7 and the 1 on the numeric keypad. (In addition to being labeled 7 and 1, they are also labeled HOME and END). These keys would be my choice to use, but they don't work in Adobe After Effects. The strange thing is that they work in all other programs, including other Adobe programs like Premiere Pro!! It seems like these keys work everywhere EXCEPT in After Effects. I have tried Num-lock off (and on), and switched the input language between US English and Norwegian. I would also like to add that I have worked on several PCs with English and Norwegian keyboards, and never experienced anything like this before. HOME and END have always worked in Adobe After Effects.
Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi Niranjan,
Thanks for your reply. I have already been in contact with Adobe about this several times, and I have an open case with them. Several techs there have been scratching their heads, not able to figure out what the problem is. The latest thing I tried while troubleshooting was to try with the onscreen keyboard. The HOME and END keys work just fine there. Well, if you guys can't figure it out either, I guess I'll just keep trolling forums around the web to see if there is some computer genius somewhere that can help me figure this out. Thanks for trying.
Eric
Hi Eric,
Thank you for keeping us updated. Since the issue is specific to Adobe Creative Cloud which is no longer sold by Adobe, I would recommend checking with Adobe for any specific settings required for this particular program.

Thanks for your reply,
Unfortunately that method won't work, since all Adobe Creative Cloud programs, including After Effects, are automatically installed through Creative Cloud. There is no disc or setup file for After Effects. Adobe doesn't sell programs anymore, you subscribe to Creative Cloud...
Any other ideas?
Eric
Hello Eric,
Welcome to Microsoft Community. The issue that you are facing seems to be specific to Adobe After Effects, as the same key combination is working with all other software.
You may try to re-install Adobe After Effects in compatibility mode and check if it resolves the issue. To do so, follow the steps below:
After copying the setup file from the disc, try the following steps.
a. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties
b. Select Compatibility Tab
c. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
d. Let the software to install and then check the functionality
