HELP! How to remove homepage-web.com/?s=acer&m=tab

Everytime on firefox, a new tab opens to "homepage-web.com/?s=acer&m=tab" then mcafe site advisor warns me that it is harmful and to avoid. The page it actually shows is a Bing page.. I understand it is not really bing. I have read many other pages and every single one tells me to remove manually which i can't. The reason being is I cannot find ANYTHING to do with homepage-web.com/?s=acer&m=tab in my programs to uninstall or in my firefox add-ons/extensions so I am at a loss on how to remove it. My laptop runs Windows 8 and I have an Acer E 15 Start laptop. All of the sites I visit tell me to install SpyHunter and the RegCure Pro, but from past experience I don't trust the downloads it tells you to get to remove Malware (usually more malware) so any help to remove this annoyance would be appreciated! I have AVG Free and Mcafe installed currently too.

Thank you, Rebekah

    Thank you for replying however, I cannot find ANYTHING at all to do with this in my programs to remove it, I don't run Internet Explorer and Firefox doesn't list it in the extensions. I followed every step from:

    http://malwaretips.com/blogs/homepage-web-com-removal/with no luck. None of the programs i downloaded from here found everything, said my laptop was clean and nothing was detected. I went as far to completley restore my whole laptop.. and it is still happening. I'm not very good with laptops but it's driving my mad as I feel I am now unsafe when online as i cannot open a new tab, and feel like I don't want to log in/purchase anything incase my details are hacked.

    I really don't know what to do next.

    Thank you for replying though

    Rebekah

    Hi Rebekah,

    Please see this free, multi-step removal guide: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/safesear-ch-removal/[http://malwaretips.com/blogs/homepage-web-com-removal/](http://malwaretips.com/blogs/homepage-web-com-removal/)

    In case you can't do a step, move on with the next step.

    Note: Step 4 (Hitman Pro) might not be necessary.

    ==========

    You say that you have 2 Anti-Virus products installed. That's not a good idea because they will interfere with eachother.

    You should uninstall one of those anti-virus products by using the respective removal tool: List of anti-malware product removal tools

    ===========

    With regard to SpyHunter and RegCure Pro: Good that you didn't install those programs!

    Hope this helps,
