Stop screen from turning off when streaming on Netflix

Hi!

I have searched the web for this but I have not found any good solution. When watching Netflix, my screen turns off after 5 minutes. Of course, I have set my energy saving settings to turning off the screen after 5 minutes, but it should not happen when watching a movie. The funny thing is, it seems like Netflix disables my screensaver automatically, but it does not disable the feature that turns off the screen. Also, with all other streaming sites I have used this has never been a problem.

I use Firefox and Windows 8.1 on an HP laptop. I do not want to change the energy settings every time I want to watch Netflix, but I do not want to change them to never turning the screen off either. I also prefer not to use a program that fakes mouse movements or anything like that. Can anyone help me?

    Hi,

If you do not want the screen to be turned off, then the only option will be to disable power saving mode. If you disable power saving mode, then the screen goes to sleep mode when you are not using computer. This is by design.

Thanks, but that's just a shortcut to changing the energy settings. Since I do not have to do this for any other streaming site, I do not think I should have to do it for Netflix. Maybe I should actually ask the Netflix support instead of Microsoft.

Try a variation of those two.  Do you have Mobility Center and its Presentation Settings toggle?  Win-x b Alt-u
