Anyone out there who can tell me what this, more or less 'general', error means and above all, how to solve this?

I am facing random system freezes and need to reboot my system to get it going again and found this 'Error' in the eventlog.

It may not be relating to this freezing.

Oh, the last 2 freezes was during copy/moving files actions.

My request for the Diagnostics –Performance Operational log was additional to my earlier request.

On the question of resolving freezes please provide a copy of your System Information file. Type System Information in the Search Box above the start Button and press the ENTER key (alternative is Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information). Select File, Export and give the file a name noting where it is located. Do not place the cursor within the body of the report before exporting the file. The system creates a new System Information file each time system information is accessed. You need to allow a minute or two for the file to be fully populated before exporting a copy. Please upload the file to your OneDrive, share with everyone and post a link here. Reports in normal mode preferred. Please say if the report has been obtained in safe mode.

Please upload and share with everyone copies of your System and Application logs from your Event Viewer to your OneDrive and post a link here.

To access the System log select Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer, from the list in the left side of the window expand Windows Logs and select System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do the same for the Applications log. Do not provide filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

    Sorry for the delay.

    Pls find attached the logfile

    http://1drv.ms/1Jz4aEp

Meanwhile, a regular occurrance is that all of a sudden my PC freezes and I need to reboot it.

Nothing works, even nog alt-ctrl-del to bring up the taskmanager.

This is really important for me. Maybe I should post a separate thread.

PowerSettings:  high performance, nothing to shut down/no screensaver, etc.

Problem is: no .dmp file is created, no entries in the logfiles, so I have really no clue as to what may be the problem.

It strikes me that it happens when files are copied and I am using Firefox, but it cud really be a mere coincidence.

    see this log:  http://1drv.ms/1ITniMq

This is just a boot performance record. It indicates that you encountered a slow boot. It appears to be that the issue may be caused by your startup items.

The description for Event ID ( 100 ) in Source ( Microsoft-Windows-Diagnostics-Performance ) could not be found.

Either the component that raises this event is not installed on the computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component or try to change Description Server.

You will find many instances of similar text in many other Event Viewer reports. These are not limited to Event ID: 100 reports. The text I have highlighted in red are variables, in that you can find identical text with just the red text differing. The blue text is something I have not noticed hitherto.

I have placed below a similar but different example below to illustrate how this block of text, part of the description in many Event Viewer reports, can vary.

    Log Name:      Application

    Source:        MSSQLServerADHelper

    Date:          19/03/2015 12:52:55

    Event ID:      100

    Level:         Error

    Description:

The description for Event ID 100 from source MSSQLServerADHelper cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

In this example what is highlighted in blue is frequently found.

    Another example:

    Log Name:      Application

    Source:        Outlook

    Date:          20/11/2014 06:56:41

    Event ID:      59

    Level:         Warning

    Description:

The description for Event ID 59 from source Outlook cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

I am current building a database of Event Viewer reports with the intention of cataloguing solutions. If you have any thoughts as to how you might carry out the suggestion that You can install or repair the component on the local computer then I would be very interested.

I have noticed your other message relating to Event Viewer. I shall be away until Tuesday. I will see if I can offer any suggestions / comments there on my return.
