Low resolution taskbar icons

Hi,

I recently bought a new notebook which runs 64-Bit Windows 8 Basic "Single Language Edition".

Non-Windows program icons on my taskbar, namely the notification area on the bottom right, have a very low resolution for some reason.

Meanwhile the normal icons of the minimized programs have normal icons, so I couldn't figure out why the small icons have this low resolution pixel icons.  The resolution is also fine for the same programs on the Start screen, with big icons.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Here is a screenshot if that helps clear things up.

Cheers.

    Thanks for the reply,

Unfortunately I have already tried that, it makes the icon slightly bigger but it's still all edgy and blurry.  Screenshot below.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the reply.

I haven't made any changes, I've noticed this the second I installed a new program to my notebook, which came with Windows 8.

What I mean by low resolution is, the icon looks like as if you were to zoom into an image and it looks all pixelly and sort of blurry, if you will.  You see sharp edges instead of smooth curves of the icons for instance, so what I mean is it's just a very very low quality image of the icon, that displays.  Which is weird because on the minimize tab and on the Windows Start screen, the icons are perfectly fine.  I'll try to get the screenshot to work so hopefully you can see what I mean.

I have just updated my graphics card driver 2 days ago, and there was no change.

    Thanks again,

    Cheers
