how can a child under parental controls install software without parent's authorization?

Dear community,

I have parental controls in my daughter's laptop and are facing a dilemma.

My daughter is required to bring her laptop to school and is frequently asked by teachers to install apps for various classes and assignments. She is unable to install apps in class as it requires my password.

Is there any way to solve this dilemma without compromising the parental control system (i.e. giving up on parental controls and change her account to administrator)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your kind assistance.

I have gone through the links you kind provided. However, my issue is still unresolved.

If there is any specific way to allow my daughter to install software without asking for permission each and ever time, I would be grateful to learn specific was to do so.

Thanking you again for your support.

    Hello,

I've run into the same issue, and I think I may have an answer.  In the previous version of Windows (8.1), you were not able to set your Child account as an administrator.  However that seems to have changed with Windows 10.  You can still apply Family Safety monitoring and restrictions to a Child account while at the same time having that child be an administrator on the computer, with the ability to install, uninstall software, etc.  If I'm not mistaken you are able to do this through Account Settings in Windows 10, and change their account type from Standard to Administrator.  I hope this helps.

That's a good question, and I've asked the same myself.  As far as I know, Family Safety is now expressly set up online.  When you add a child, they receive and e-mail notification and accept the request to become a part of your 'family'.  Once that is established, it should now apply to all their Windows devices and can only be removed via a similar process of unsubscribing online.  I'd want to double check into that though...

    Dear Kris,

Thank you so much for your kind information. This would be the solution!

But I was wondering if my daughter would be able to disable Family Safety or change its settings if she became an administrator? Or Windows 10 would give all the administrator rights except for Family Safety?

When Windows 10 is ready to install, I will try your approach.

Once again, Thank you so much.
