Thank you very much for responding.
First of all, I apologize because I didn't read the article. I thought the link was for a tutorial video that would show me what to do. It, however, didn't tell me what I needed to know and I thought that was all there was to it. I screwed up there.
However, after reading the article, I am still confused and still don't understand how to set up a video call.
I set up a new contact who has Skype but Skype gave me no options, no steps to follow to set up contacting that person via the computer for a video call. The only two options it gave me were "Number" (and it tells me you can't make a video call that way)
or "search". I tried searching by name and that was hellishly difficult. I would have had to contact an awful lot of people with that same name all over the world in order to find out who was who.
The article says to click on that contact in order figure out who it is. Does Skype use that person's phone number to figure that out and the only reason I can't make that call is because he's not currently on the internet? If that person is, however, currently
online with Skype will it, in effect, ring his computer when I click on an appropriate icon?
Or do I have to, in effect, contact them in order to tell them I will be contacting them? (This last sentence probably sounds sarcastic. I do not mean it that way.)
TIA,
RS
