Operating System is Windows 7 Enterprise.

Hardware is DYMO Labelwriter 450, Lenovo X1 Carbon

Software is DYMO Label Software v8.5.1

Error: Double-click on DYMO Label Software v.8 and the DYMO Label Software v.8 logo come up, but the application does not launch.  It stays there for several minutes.  A Fatal Error come up, "An outgoing call cannot be made since the application is dispatching an input-synchronous call. (Exception from HRESULT:0x8001010D RPC_E_CANTCALLOUT_INININPUTSYNCCALL))".  Second Fatal Error follows, "Hwnd of zero is not valid."

Troubleshooting steps I done:

I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and the application software.

Plugged onto a different USB port on the docking station and on the laptop USB port.

Any possible solutions is greatly appreciated.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the feedback.

You can also try to reinstall the Dymo Label Software by following these steps:

    1. Unplug all DYMO label writersfrom the computer

Remove any DYMO printer from the Control Panel / Devices and Printers list.

    1. Go to C:\Program Files\DYMO\DYMO Label Software\Support or

    C:\Program Files(x86)\DYMO\DYMO Label Software\Support for 64bit systems

    1. Start the LWSupport.exe file
    2. Select the “Remove DYMO Printer Drivers” option and click “OK”
    3. Uninstall the DYMO Label Software.
    4. Remove the folder: "C: \ Program Files or Program Files (x86) \ DYMO".
    5. Remove the folder: "C: \ Documents and Settings \ <username> \ AppData \ Local \ Sanford, LP".
    6. Remove the folder: "C: \ Documents and Settings \ <username> \ AppData \ Local \ DYMO".

    9. Install the latest version of the DYMO Label Software

Please make sure that during installation the device is not connected to the computer.

The problem might be also caused by .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. Our Software uses exactly this version and if it's not activated or installed the software cannot start.

    I hope this will help.

    Kind regards,

    ^ST

I found the solution by renaming the user.config file located on C:\users*username*\AppData\Local\Sanford,_L.P.\DLS.exe...\8.5.1.1816.  DYMO recreates a new user.config file.

Find this file in File Explorer and rename it : C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Sanford,_L.P.\DLS.exe...\8.5.1.1816 where "username" is your user name.

The problem with the solutions is I cannot start the software and it is not feasible to run the software as an administrator all the time.  However, I will check to see if there is a label template.

    Hello,

The errors above usually appear when you try to open a label or a saved label template by double clicking on it, while DYMO Label Software is opened.

To avoid this error and if you are trying to open a label template, please first close the software and then double click on the template to open it.

Another solution is to start the software and then:

    1. Go to File
    2. From the drop-down menu choose Open
    3. Browse for your label and open it.

If this doesn't solve the issue, you can also try to run the application as an administrator by right-clicking on the icon and choosing the option "run as administrator" .

If the problem still persists, please contact us directly, so we will be able to help you accordingly.
