I have a laptop running windows 8 pretty sur ot 8.1 but i canttell you exact version as I cannot control the mouse, keyboard or touc screen until I can disable the touch screen.

basically I  Returned from a few days away to find someone had been in my home and among other things had damaged the screen on my laptop. The display is fine, but the cracks trigger a constant fast tap action to occur in one spot on the screen. It is so constant thqt I cannot move the mouse, or use the keyboard except via vnc desktop (which luckily is running as a service)

Over vnc access I can left click. I cannot type into any textboxes etc, because if I click into a field to activate it immediately the touchscreen tapping thqt is occurring will move the focus back to this one position o the screen. For the same reason I cannot access any right click menus (I can display them momentarily but they disappear immediately due to the constant screen tap generated by the cracks in the touch screen.

I don't have the money to replace the screen at the moment or to buy a new laptop and this one is essential to me on a daily basis.

The only advice I have been able to find online is to deselect a check  box in the sound, etc hardware setting via control panel. However like many othersiafter animating to the correct control panel item, there is no such checkboxt

I have not been able to discover the file name /location for any driver file I could either disable via msconfig or maybe create a batch file (or whatever they call the windows 8 equivalent of batch files)

I cannot find any reference to any keyboard shortcuts to do this (unsure if I could get them to work anyway)

Surely there must be a way to do this?

Can anyone help me please?

Note oNE day when I turned it on (the only way I can restart is by using the hardware on/off power button on the physical keyboard, as I can't access the power menu as I can't do swipes etc. Anyway one day it restarted and the touchscreen was disabledi I have no idea why, I didn't do anything to disable i. I thought maybe the touchscreen functionality had failed altogether so windows was just recognising it as a non touch capable screen, however when it restarted, the touchscreen was active again and the constant screen tap was back of course

If i can just find a way to disable the dam touch screen then i will be happy, I hardly used the touch functionality on it anyway.

Please, please please can someone Help?
