    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are unable to play the MSN online games. Before we proceed, we would require more information to assist you further.

    1. Are you facing this issue in a particular browser?
    2. Have you made any changes to the computer prior to this issue?
    3. Is the issue occurring only when you play MSN online games?
    4. Are you getting any error message?

The most common cause is a missing or outdated add-on that’s needed to play the game. Most online games are based on Silverlight, Flash or Java and do require Internet Explorer add-ons to function. In most cases, ensuring that you have the latest updates for Windows, Internet Explorer and any Internet Explorer add-ons can help resolve most issues.

Try these steps if you are using Internet Explorer11 to access MSN games.

Method 1: If you are using ActiveX Filtering or Tracking Protection, some content like games or videos might be disabled. To find out if you are using ActiveX filtering or Tracking Protection refer to the link.

    Step1:

    1. Open Internet Explorer for the desktop.
    2. Go to the site you want to allow ActiveX controls to run on.
    3. Tap or click the Filter button in the Address bar, and then tap or click Turn off ActiveX Filtering.

    Step 2:

    1. Open Internet Explorer for the desktop.
    2. Tap or click the Tools button, and then tap or click Internet options.
    3. On the Security tab, tap or click Custom level, and then under ActiveX controls and plug-ins, do one the following:
    • Allow automatic prompting for ActiveX controls by tapping or clicking Enable.
    • Allow Internet Explorer to Display video and animation on a webpage that does not use external media player by tapping or clicking Enable.
    • Allow Internet Explorer to download signed ActiveX controls by tapping or clicking Enable, or Prompt if you want to be notified each time this happens.
    • Allow Internet Explorer to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins by tapping or clicking Enable, or Prompt if you want to be notified each time this happens.
    • Allow Internet Explorer to Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting by tapping or clicking Enable, or Prompt if you want to be notified each time this happens.
    • Tap or click OK, and then tap or click OK again.

If the above method didn't work, try next method.

Method 2: Make sure the add-ons are installed and enabled

You will need to make sure that the necessary Add-ons are enabled in Internet Explorer, to do this follow the steps below:

    a. Start Internet Explorer and click the Tools icon and then click Internet Options

    b. Click the Programs Tab and click the Manage add-ons button

    c. From the Show dropdown selection, select Run without Permissions

Look for the following add-ons in the displayed list and make sure the Status is listed as Enabled

Note: When checking to see if the add-on is installed you can also verify the current version of the add-on.

The add-on for Microsoft Silverlight is listed as Microsoft Silverlight

    • Install the latest version of Silverlight and then make sure Silverlight is enabled      in Internet Explorer
    • If you need to uninstall and then reinstall Silverlight visit the Get Microsoft Silverlight website and click the Uninstall Silverlight tab
    • For help with Silverlight issues, visit the Silverlight Community website

The add-ons for Adobe Flash and Adobe Shockwave Player are listed as Shockwave Active X Control and Shockwave Flash Object

    • Update to the latest version of Adobe Flash
    • In some cases it may be necessary to uninstall Adobe Flash from your installed programs list and then reinstall the latest version
    • For help with Adobe Flash issues, visit the Adobe Flash Help and Support website
    • Update to the latest version of Adobe Shockwave
    • In some cases it may be necessary to uninstall Adobe Shockwave Player from      your installed programs list and then reinstall the latest version
    • For help with Adobe Shockwave issues, visit the Adobe Shockwave Player Help and Support website

The add-on for Java is listed as Java Plug-in (May be multiple add-ons).

    • Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed
    • In some cases it may be necessary to uninstall Java from your installed programs list and then reinstall the latest version
    • For help with Java issues, visit the Java Help Center website

The problem is clearly with MSN.

I have only been able to play some of the games and then only if I don't try to log in.

I've been getting the same error message Fred posted. And there have been issues with the card games for even longer.

    Please fix it soon.
