Try installing the newest driver available in "compatibility mode"
To install in compatibility mode do the following:
Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS
(works in win 7, win 8, and win 10)
Driver required for 1200 UB Plus Scanner

I have an old scanner, marked as a 1200 UB Plus, which I guess is a Mustek scanner. The driver disc is showing as incompatible with Windows 8.1 Research indicates that Mustek don't support their old scanners, and I have been unable to locate a free 8.1 driver that will do the job. For such an old scanner there is obviously no point in paying for something that might or might not work. I have tried Vuescan, but this refuses to believe that the scanner is plugged in to the computer. Is there a way forward or should I just put the scanner in the skip?

2015-06-11T16:54:35+00:00 Haven't had any success with this. Best I got offered (in a foreign language) was to install V4 of Acrobat Reader! I do have the XP driver disc, but when I try to install it I just get the message that 8.1 can't install the app. "Can't" seems pretty final to me, so I need a download that "can" be installed.
Christ knows how we'll all get on when Windows 10 screws up everything... Just wait and see.

2015-06-11T15:31:39+00:00 The Vuescan web page indicates that in order for it to work with your scanner, a Mustek WIA driver is required. There is no obvious place on the Mustek support siteto get the driver. I think you're most probably not going to be able to get the scanner working.
