    Hi Brandon,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

This issue might occur if there is a change in network adapter settings.

To assist you better, provide us the following information:

    1. Are you able to use the internet using the browser?
    2. Have you made any changes to the Computer prior to the issue?

Refer to below methods to resolve the issue.

Method 1: I would suggest you refer to the steps provided in the below Microsoft Help Article and also run the troubleshooter. Try to install the latest network adapter driver as suggested in the below article.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/network-connection-problem-help#network-problems=windows-81&v1h=win81tab4&v2h=win7tab1&v3h=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/network-connection-problem-help#network-problems=windows-81&v1h=win81tab2&v2h=win7tab1&v3h=winvistatab1&v4h=winxptab1

If issue still persist, refer to below method.

Method 2: I suggest you to clear the DNS cache.

Frequently web connection problems can be traced to a corrupted DNS cache. Flushing this cache is an easy fix to many of these problems.

Here is how to fix that corrupted DNS cache.

    1. Press Windows Key + W Key.
    2. Type "CMD" without the quotes in search bar.
    3. Right click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
    4. In the command window type the following and then hit on Enter Key:

    ipconfig /flushdns

    1. You will see the following confirmation:

Windows IP Configuration Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache

Hope it helps. Reply to us with the information, so that we can resolve the issue.

I have not done any major changes to my computer. I have tried both of those methods and neither have worked the problem is getting worse. I can connect and use the internet in browsers for a while then google chrome will freeze and a little icon at the bottom of the wireless signal will appear. So i press troubleshoot and it runs and says reset adapter and it fixes the problem for about two minutes. I would also like to point out again that this only happens on my main wifi at home any other one is fine even for hours and there is not problem and other computers can connect to the wifi at home fine and there is not any problems

    Hi Brandon,

Thank you for your reply with the current status of the issue.

To assist you better, provide the information:

    1. Are you facing the same issue using Internet Explorer?
    2. What is the make and model of the Computer?

Refer to the below methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: If you have not tried updating the network adapter. Refer to the below link to try updating it.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/fix-network-adapter-problems#1TC=windows-8

If the above link didn’t help, then i would suggest you update the latest version of network adapter driver from the Computer Manufacturer's website and check if it helps.

If the issue still persist, refer to the below method.

Method 2: I suggest you to boot the Computer in clean boot state and troubleshoot with the issue.

Refer to the below Microsoft Help Article to boot the Computer in clean boot state.

Clean boot disclaimer: A clean boot is performed to start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows. You may also troubleshoot or determine what conflict is causing the problem by performing a clean boot. You must log on to the computer as an administrator to be able to perform a clean boot. Your computer may temporarily lose some functionality when you perform a clean boot. When you start the computer normally, the functionality returns. However, you may receive the original error message, or experience the original behavior if the problem still exists. If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps.

    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Once you perform clean boot do refer to the section “How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting” to boot the computer in normal mode.

Reply to us with the information, so that we can resolve the issue.
