- Did you try to connect the device to other USB port?
- Have you installed any third party antivirus program?
- Did you check with other computer?
- What is the exact error message/code you receive when you try to format it?
- Check if you’re able to format USB device from a different computer?
- Check for any error if present under Device Manager. Follow the steps given below.
a) Press Windows Key + X Key on desktop.
b) Select Device Manager.
c) Expand Imaging Device.
d) Check if there is any error ( ! sign ) or ( ? Sign ).

Method 1: Run hardware and Device troubleshooter.

b) Type Troubleshooting in the search box right up corner and hit enter.
c) Click on Troubleshooting tab.
d) Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
e) Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
f) Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
