    Hi Les,

This issue might occur due to incorrect system file settings.

Let us follow these methods and check if this helps.

    Method 1.

You may reset the Internet Explorer settings to default and check if this helps.

    • Press “Windows key + R” to get the run window.
    • Type “inetcpl.cpl” and click ok to get the “Internet Options” window.
    • Click the “Advanced” tab and click “reset”.

Disclaimer: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.

    Method 2.

You may run the SFC scannow tool and check if the issue persists. SFC /scannow is a super-useful command you can use in any Windows version. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the /scannow switch, the tool will scan all of the important Windows files on your computer and replace them as necessary. Missing and corrupt operating system files (like many DLL files) are arguably the biggest cause of major Windows issues.

Refer to these steps to perform a SFC scan:

    a) Press Windows key + X, select Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated command prompt.

    b) In the command prompt type the following command: sfc  /scannow and press enter.

    c) After the scan, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Once the scan is done, restart the computer and ensure that the computer is up to date with the latest Windows Updates.

    I had the same issue.

It was Adobe Flash Player that caused the problem.  Removed it and all turned fine.

    Don't blame Microsoft for everything.

    :)

Les never responded, so if I may chime in here, I began having this same issue with IE11 on my System 7 Ultimate PC - seems like it happened after the last Windows Update.

It always happens when I'm in Zillow.com, after I've selected a house of interest, and scroll down to see more information.

I tried running sfc /scannow, as an administrator, but all that happens is, a blank, black command window opens for an instant and then closes.  There seems to be no way to run sfc /scannow on my PC.

I've already got the latest version of IE installed, as well as the most current Microsoft Updates.

The exact error I'm seeing over and over is very similar to Les's:

    Problem signature:

    Windows 7 SP1 64-bit_Internet Explorer 11

I am having the same issue and it is very sporadic and my best guess is that "Adobe Flashplayer", Adobe Shockwave , Adobe Reader XI(11.0.09) or Java is associated somehow.

I have had trouble with the new version of Adobe Reader XI in IE11, Firefox and Chrome. Have trouble with flash player in Firefox plus Firefox is not even displaying videos on Yahoo correctly.

Usually if I happen to check my "Resource Monitor" before IE11 freezes it shows the ieexplore (64-bit) using approximately 30,000 kb of memory and the ieexplore*32 (only 1 tab) process using 2 Gb of memory.

I have a User Mode Internet Explorer 11 dump file that was created for this event, but I don't know how to even open or interpret this dump file!
