Bluetooth Speaker is detected but has no drivers

I have a Marley Get Together Bluetooth speaker. My HP EliteBook 850 is running windows 7. The speaker is detected, but in the devices window, it has a yellow triangle exclamation mark next to it, which means it doesn't have a driver. (on detection, the message 'could not find a driver comes up.) So, I scanned for a driver- no luck. I contacted the manufacturer- they don't know either.

It works with windows 8.1 and on my android phone. (I'm not using Windows 8 for other reasons, and I don't want to.)

Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Godinho,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue.

Even before you add a Bluetooth enabled device to your computer, you must do two things to make sure your computer and the device are ready to connect:

    1. Add a Bluetooth adapter to your computer if it doesn't already have one. You can do this by plugging the adapter into a USB port.
    2. Set up the Bluetooth enabled device so that your computer can find it.

Please follow these methods and check if this helps:

    Method 1:

Try to run the hardware troubleshooter and check what the issue is and fix it accordingly.

Follow the link given below open hardware troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Open-the-Hardware-and-Devices-troubleshooter

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, then suggest you to refer to this article and run the troubleshooter to check if it helps.

    Method 3:

Let’s uninstall the Bluetooth driver and reinstall it to check if it helps.

    1. Type “devmgmt.msc” in start search box and hit Enter.
    2. In Device Manager, expand the Bluetooth driver in the device list.
    3. Right click on it, click Uninstall.
    4. Restart the computer and the default drivers will get installed automatically.

You may also visit the computer manufacturer’s website to download and install the latest drivers.
