I had the same problem. Once all the required drivers are installed & working & the laptop has connected via bluetooth to the device, Right click the volume control down by the clock & select "playback Devices". This opens a sound window, in here you should see your soundbar & laptop speakers listed. if you want the soundbar to play audio, right click & set as default. if your media player was open close it, now when you go back in, the sound should play from whatever the default audio device is.
Whenever you change the default audio, close down whatever app your using to play music/movie whatever & re-open to use the audio device.....
