    Hi

Read the remarks at the end of this page.

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx

As you can see from this page the x1200 is Not consider to be supported by Win 7.

Thus the reaction of Acer, and AMD. I.e., the concerned parties are "shying" away from dealing with the issue.

At the end of the page there is Vista drivers. Give it a try.

The first large file includes the drivers and the ATI control Utility.

The second one is just the Drivers.

Which one? It is your call.

Dear All,  Should you have the ATI Radeon x1200 or other similar drivers required for Win 7-10, suggest you install OS as usual and then install Video driver for OS for previous systems, i.e. Vista, Win 7 or system you had prior to upgrade that it worked well in.  This has worked so far in all systems prior to RTM Win10, that I am testing out in next couple of days, should work ok by doing this method.

Well since Acer doesn't supply a video driver for that notebook for Win 7 and ATI (AMD) considers the notebook too old to provide a Win 7 driver for that computer you probably are out of luck in upgrading it unless there is a built in driver in Win 7 for that model video card.  From what I am reading online, AMD won't create a driver for that model video card for Win 7 in your Acer computer.  Looks like you need to go back to Vista.

Did you run the Win 7 upgrade advisor prior to purchasing Win 7?

yes and it said i could. even said i could when at 1st i tried to upgrade from home basic vista to home premium too.  but i couldnt upgrade my vista cause files were missing. majority of the manufactures now are leaving out files and adding thier own files to repair your computer.  acer repair is to put it back the way you bought it. lmao there.    the advisory said i had to uninstall my at&t wireless connectivity air card and install new driver for it. and as it turns out the new driver aka firmware isnt compatable with win7.
