My laptop, which is running Window 10 x64 has been experiencing heat issues from a few days. So I  ran Speedfan in order to see if everything was okay with the fans. But when I ran the software, I found that the software is not displaying the details of the fans. I am posting the screenshot.

The left part of the image is the screenshot I took when I ran Speedfan on my PC. The right part of the image, which shows the details of the fans, is the screenshot I took from a Youtube video which shows how Speedfan works. I think I am in big trouble. Please help me.

    Hi S Prashanth,

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

Let us try the methods below and check if it helps.

    Run the Power Troubleshooter.

Power troubleshooter will automatically fix some common issues with Power Plans. Run the Power troubleshooter to adjust your computer's power settings. The Power troubleshooter checks things like your computer's timeout settings, which determine how long the computer waits before turning off the monitor display or entering sleep mode. Adjusting these settings can help you conserve power and extend your computer's battery life.

    1. Press Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.
    2. Select Troubleshooting and click on System and Security.
    3. Click on Power and follow the  onscreen steps.

Let’s change the power plan settings to use minimum processor state to prevent overheating.

    Follow these:

    a) Press Windows and X key together and select Power options.

    b) Click on Change plan settings for the power plan that you have set on the laptop.

    c) Go to Processor power management. Expand the icon and expand maximum processor state.

    d) Reduce the processor state (for both  Plugged-in as well as On battery) to a certain level to verify if it makes any difference.

    e) Click on Apply and then  OK.

You can also try with maintenance troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Maintenance troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel.
    2. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.
    3. Under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.

Then try Clean Boot as well.

This helps eliminate software conflicts that occur when you install a program or an update or when you run a program in Windows. It starts Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.

Note: After troubleshooting, refer to this section "How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting" in the above link.

Hope this helps in resolving the issue. If issue persists, do get back to us. We will be happy to assist you.
