Hello,

I previously asked for help getting Lego Rock Raiders installed on my Win 10 Desktop.  That was answered with the following thread:

Hi Trooper,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will be glad to assist you with your issue.

I would suggest you to update the drivers in your system and check if it helps.

You can update drivers from the Device Manager

Follow the steps to update drivers from the Device Manager:

  1. Right click on Start button, type Device Manager and Enter.
  2. Find the drivers which needs to be installed and also see if there are any warning symbols. If yes update the drivers.
  3. Right click and click on Properties, and go to Driver tab and click on Update driver.

I would also suggest you try downloading the game in Safe mode and check if it gets installed successfully.

Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started. The word Safe Mode appears in the corners of your monitor to identify which monitors mode you are using.

To use a Safe Boot option, follow these steps:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Run will open, type msconfig and hit the Enter key.
  3. A system configuration box will pop up.
  4. Click on Boot Tab.
  5. Select or click the check box Safe mode with networking.
  6. Click on Apply and ok.
  7. You will then see a restart button. Click it to restart your computer.

Once you are in safe mode try installing the game and see if the issue gets resolved.

Once you completed the steps above follow the below steps on how to go back to normal mode:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Run will open, type msconfig and hit the Enter key.
  3. A system configuration box will pop up.
  4. Click on Boot Tab.
  5. If you see safe mode box has a check mark in it, uncheck the safe mode box and hit apply or ok.
  6. You will then see a restart button. Click it to restart your computer.
  7. When your computer comes back up, sign in and you will now be in "normal mode".

Let us know if the above information helped you. For further assistance feel free to post your queries in Microsoft forums. We will be glad to assist you.

Thank you.

Now the issue is that I cant seem to get the game to actually run now. When I click the game icons on the desktop (standard or enhanced) it asks for administrative permission then the screen goes black for a second like it's adjusting the resolution of the screen or starting the game then just goes back to desktop like normal. Can anyone please help me with this?

Since it is not supported by Windows 10, then you as a company should either add it to the Microsoft store, or patch an update for this version of windows to allow the play of older games. just throwing that out there.

The tutorial at this link is very good, but LRR still is a very fickle game and may not work for you. http://www.rockraidersunited.com/topic/6753-tutorial-running-lego-rock-raiders-on-windows-10-with-virtualbox/

    Hi,

Thank you for using Windows 10.

I understand your concern and appreciate your patience. I would like to inform you that I checked with the compatibility of the game and it turned out to be incompatible for Windows 10.

    See the link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/CompatCenter/ProductViewerWithDefaultFilters?TempOsid=Windows%208.1&Locale=en-us&Architecture=X64&TextSearch=Lego%2BRock%2BRaiders%2B&Type=Both&CurrentPage=0&TotalPages=1&ShowCriteria=0&SortCriteria=Relevance&Compatibility=Unknown&LastRequested=14

However, you may give a try installing the game in compatibility mode. Refer to the link:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows (Link holds good for Windows 10).

Let us know if you need further assistance and we'll be glad to help.
