I need help connecting my HP Laserjet Pro CP1525nw printer to my Alienware computer.

I have tried setting it up as a wireless printer and nothing I do works.

I attempted to use the CD Rom that came with the printer. I have also downloaded al the drivers from the HP website and tried those.

After each attempt to install the printer for wireless operation I removed / uninstalled the drivers and software and reinstalled everything as directed.

On the ast install attempt I selected the Option that is suppose to set it up an Ad-Hoc device.

I have reset the printer its factory default settings, activated the internal wireless system (On) and the Blue light (On) indicating the printer is in wireless mode and transmitting.

My computer is not identiifying or aquiring the HP printer?

Overview - Problem number 1; After inserting the Instalation CD Rom, following the on screen instructions, and observing the installation process 'which has been taking a long time' the instlation process gets to 99% and stays there for a long time. After a long period of time an ERROR MESSAGE appears stating (Paraphrasing) "The process took to long to complete" please restsart your computer and try reinstalling the device" ... I have repated this step several time over the course of a few days and several hours with no success.

Note: The only success I have had was installing the printer witht he USB connected to my compouter.

Additional Information: Our home network is ATT Uverse all inclusive (Phone, Internet, Cable)

My Alienware Computer is connected to the internet through Att Uverse, no problems.

Operating System - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate with all updates current.

Viruse Protection - McAffee Security Center (COmputer is fully protected:

Any suggestions, comments, instructions, would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

John Rapp

    Hi JohnRapp,

    1.      What happens when you try to install the printer?

    2.      Do you receive any error message?

    Perform the following troubleshooting methods:

    Method 1:

Perform the troubleshooting steps from the following link.

Hardware devices are not working or are not detected in Windows

    Method 2:

Refer the following link to install the printer on a home network.

**Note:**I would suggest you to copy the printer driver from the CD to your local hard disk and then try to install the driver from the driver on your hard disk.

We have been dealing with the same problem.  After changing routers, we could not connect the printer to the new wireless connection.  This printer would not recognize the WPS signal on the new router. Below are steps used to solve this problem:

    1. Connect the printer to your router using an ethernet cable.  Wait about 30 seconds to a minute for a connection.
    2.  In the LCD of the printer, you will find an IP address.  Enter that IP address into your browser and press enter.  At this point, you will see a web-based Admin panel for your printer.  Its pretty user friendly too.
    3.  Select the “Networking” tab from the top menu.
    4.  Select “Wireless Configuration” from the menu on the left.  A wireless menu box will open
    5.  In the Status box, select "ON"
    6.  In the "Configuration Method" box select “Join an existing network”
    7.  In the "Network Name  [SSID]" box, locate and select your wireless network
    8.  In the "Authentication" box, input your network password
    9.  Click on the "Apply" button
    10.   To confirm that your printer is connected to your wi-fi network, select the "Network Summary" tab on the left menu bar.  Scroll down the page to view the "Wireless Network Configuration."  In this box, your status should be "Connected", "Wireless" should be "On" and your wireless network name SSID should also appear.

Congratulations, your printer should now be connected to your wi-fi.   To activate your connection, disconnect the ethernet cable from the printer.  The wireless connection WILL NOT activate and will not work unless the ethernet cable is disconnected from the printer.
