Hi, i have a problem with the Driver for TSSTcorp CDDVDW SN-208AB. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite L850 - 1L1, with windows 8. I bought it 3/4 months ago, and i think it's the first time i had to use the CD input, but the computer does not recognize the CD driver, so i can't access and use it. When i go on the Device Manager, there's an Error symbol, and the specific error is someting like (I have translated it in English from Italian): "Can not start this hardware device. The configuration information in the registry is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". I have read that other people had a similar problem, but i really don't understand how that could happen, because it's a new computer.

How can i solve this problem?

Thanks in advice

    Thanks,

I had already tried this solution, without success. But this time, i don't know how and why, it worked!

I can finally use the CD driver!

Here is a FAQ from Toshiba that may help:

    http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/tkb/articleprintpage/tkb-id/brd_win8@tkb/article-id/9

can you try uninstalling the two programs (TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator, TOSHIBA Disc Creator) and see if it helps.

Be sure to restart the computer afterward.

I had the same problem when upgrading to Windows 10. Try uninstalling the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator as described in this post http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows\_8-update/tsst-corp-cddcdw-sn-208ab-code-19-after-load-win-8/a8da45ff-3651-4d5a-be98-4d780eff62d7?rtAction=1439171933115, which worked for me.

How I managed to do this is like this!

    1. On start type Device Manager
    2. Under settings click Device Manager
    3. Then under DVD/CD ROM drives right click on the cd/dvd drive
    4. Click Disable
    5. Then click on Ok
    6. Then right click again on the CD/DVD drive again
    7. Finally click on Enable and it's done!
