I am trying to instal a font into Windows 7 for use with Office 2010.

I've followed the instructions for Install font in Windows 7 from the Microsoft Website ...

  1. Open Fonts by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Fonts.
  2. Click File, and then click Install New Font. If you don’t see the File menu, press ALT  ...            but that is as far as I can go, because the file menu does not include "ADD" I am logged in as "Administrator" but it seems I don't have administrator privileges to add a font ... Can anyone help please ... urgently

Did you try the alternate methods?

    1. Open the font file (by double clicking on it), on the left top corner you can find Install button, click on it. Click Yes, if UAC prompts. This should install the font.
    2. Copy the font and paste the font inside C:\Windows\Fonts. This is like installing the font. as method 1.

It took a long time and I'm not sure how or why it worked, but having opened the font file window as above, I put the four common versions of the font file (bold, italic, bold-italic, normal) on the desk top and dragged them across to the window. OK, it worked. The fonts are there and available for use, but Im still intrigued to know why I don't have administrator privileges.
