Incompatibility between Windows 7 Firewall and AVAST Antivirus Firewall

Gentlemen,

I have discovered a significant problem with AVAST executing under Windows. I have reviewed the log (viz., 19 pages) of the Window7’s diagnostic performance for the most recent thirteen entries.  It appears to me you have revised your product such that it is no longer compatible with Windows 7. Starting in August, my PC would "freeze", reboot, or display a completely "black" screen. As time flew, I began having serious problems when I powered up my PC. For example, the boot process would "freeze" a various points. Usually, I received a message from Windows to select a media for rebooting. Sometimes the boot-process would "freeze" at the display message from Windows informing that Windows is starting my PC and then "freeze". Whenever I was successful in starting Windows, I would work for several minutes, and then the display would "freeze" whenever I doing about anything: e.g., editing a Word document, downloading data from a website, or just about anywhere - any time. In addition, I started having problems in connecting to the Internet. Fortunately, I was able to run Windows 7 diagnostics as well as access Windows' log files. After collecting the logs from Windows Diagnostic Performance, I plainly saw that the Windows firewall and the AVAST firewall could no longer execute at the same time. Therefore, I uninstalled AVAST from my programs hosted on my PC, and I took AVAST's suggestion to uninstall AVAST from your website. Eureka! Now my PC executes with no problems. Surely, your user community has had the same experience? The following is a Windows 7 log:

I strongly recommend AGAINST using any Internet Security product.  I recommend you install only Antivirus products that contain no other parts.  I have discovered over many years and working with hundreds of computers that those other parts are the cause of far too many problems with out significant benefits.  Most of those other parts are duplicative of what is already in Windows 7 and attempt (sometimes unsuccessfully as you have demonstrated) to work around or shut down the Win7 process.

I am currently using only Bitdefender Antivirus 2015+ as the only option in my client computers.  If you do enough research, you will see why.

"I plainly saw that the Windows firewall and the AVAST firewall could no longer execute at the same time."- Also, it appears you are, or were, running two software Firewalls. Why are you using two?

Why would you post a detailed Avast problem report in a Windows forum?
