MSVCP110.dll & MSVCR110.dll missing after roll back to windows 8.1

I rolled back to Windows 8.1 because some of my Apps were not compatible (some old software as well) and performance is everything for me. (and Windows 8.1 has better performance as far as i can tell) as usual i did it on my Old laptop first and it does all seemed to have gone just fine except that now my F-Secure is no longer starting up properly because MSVCP110.dll is missing and replacing that with any version i could find, still MSVCR110.dll was missing, and having replaced that there was another .dll file in which the entry points couldn't be found etc. Now my internet security is quite important for browsing and sorts, but so far i haven't managed to reinstall the application, because the online installer also requires these dll's anyway. So what happened to them ?  they were not in my old System32. but they do exist in my windows10 system32 folder. Of course and unfortunately me new laptop is x64 and my old one is x86, so i can't just transfer files, and actually downloading any version from the web to run my anti-virus software doesn't sound like such a wise thing to do.

    Hi,

I can understand the inconvenience caused to you. I will certainly help you with this issue.

Msvcp110.dll is a type of DLL file associated with Windows 8 Pro developed by Microsoft for the Windows Operating System. This issue could cause if the Msvcp110.dll file might have gone corrupted or not installed successfully.

I would suggest you to follow the methods below and check.

Method 1: Check your Recycle bin

Make sure you have not accidently deleted msvcp110.dll file. Check your Recycle bin to make sure its not there. If you find it just restore and see if you get the error again.

If the issue persists, follow method 2.

    Method 2:

    1. Click “Start”, type "services.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
    2. Note: If UAC (User Account Control) window is prompted for permission to continue, please click “Continue”.
    3. Double click “Volume Shadow Copy Service” and switch to “General” tab.
    4. Change the “Startup type” to “Automatic” and click “Apply”.
    5. Click “Start” and click “OK”.

If the issue persists, follow method 3.

Method 3: Download Visual C++ Redistributable

Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio from the Official Microsoft website. Install it once download. This step will replace the old corrupted msvcp110.dll file in most cases.

Please post back with the results and the information asked, We will be glad to assist you further.

    Hello Henri,

We agree with you on that. Windows Defender and other third party Antivirus use the same resources. But to set your expectation, Windows Defender will automatically turn itself off or becomes silent when you installed another Antivirus, and this in fact will weigh things equally.

Driven the situation, have you tried to reinstall your software after the Windows patch installation?

    We'll be monitoring this thread.

    Kind regards.

I have same problem also with F-Secure after an update launched on 19.03.2017 - I did also all above described methods (also SFC/scannow under cmd)  already with Win10-Home OS, no success !!!

I guess this is to be seen in combination with Defender, because Defender is set to full Operation as I now see.

I did method 2 and 3, checked my recycle bin as well of course, but that didn't fix it.

then i reinstalled windows 8.1 from CD, still no luck. Downloaded the file from a site somewhere then it turned out MSVCR110.dll was also missing, downloaded that file as well, then my F-secure was getting an incorrect entry point to a dll file, so ended up uninstalling and reinstalling that. and now everything works as before.
