Is Tweakbit really associated with Microsoft?

This so-called PC Cleaner and driver updater has become very intrusive. We never downloaded it and it is not listed on our list of programs so it cannot be uninstalled. There is a Microsoft logo on it as a Microsoft partner. WE assumed it was Malware.

If so why does Microsoft promote or accept it?

and

How do we get rid of it?

It was probably bundled with some other product you downloaded...

The logo Microsoft partner doesn't tell anything about the quality of a product... Just about anyone can become a Microsoft partner...

I suggest to try to uninstall the PCleaner with  free Revo Uninstaller: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

    or with also free AppRemover:

    http://www.appremover.com

In case the above tools don't work, try scanning with the tools mentionend in this free, multi-step removal guide: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-adware-popup-ads/

In case you can't do step 1, move on with the next steps.

If need be, run multiple scans with each of the tools and also reboot after each scan.

Note: scanning with Hitman Pro might not be necessary.

    Cheers,

    J
