No picture with SC-13HDL11939N webcam after Windows updates on Samsung laptop

Hi,

I have a Samsung laptop NP300E5C with Windows 8 and built-in Webcam SC-13HDL11939N. The webcam worked fine wirh S Camera and Skype. I did not use the webcam for about a year; there was a lot of Windows updating during that time. Now that I would like to use the webcam again, there is no picture, neither with S Camera nor with Skype. Only the little blue LED turns on when I use S Camera, but the screen remains black. Strangely,the Device Manager tells me the webcam is fully functional and the driver is up-to-date!

Samsung told me to deinstall the webcam, reinstall Chipset_9.3.0.1021 again and restart the laptop. However, this does not help :-(

What could I do to get my webcam working again?

Thanks,

win8cub

    Thank you Ratandeep,

    but S Camera still shows no picture/video from the webcam. This is what I did:

    * 1 *

    Followed your instructions a, b, c, d. I got the message (translated from English) something like:

    "It is possible that hardware changes were not identified". And "Windows has been configured to not update automatically drivers". I am at a loss at this latter point, I never configured Windows like this, I would not even know how to do it; in "Widows update" I never saw anything like "drivers"

    * 2 *

    Loaded down http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/DR/201209/20120921113036667/Camera\_WXP\_1.1.0.0.ZIP, extracted it and did the setup. It ran smoothly, "Realtek Webcam", and finished successfully. The Device Manager than showed me in the WebCam's driver details that the webcam was installed, with correct date and time of today.

    Unfortunately, S Camera still shows no picture, only the blue LED light up :-(

    Could it be that I should have deinstalled the webcam first, before installing with Camera_WXP_1.1.0.0?

    (I tried to uninstall the webcam a few days ago, it disappeared, but after rebooting in Windows 8 the webcam had installed itself again)

    Is there something else I could do?

    Thanks,

    win8cub

    Hi,

    I am having the exact same problem. Same model of laptop, same webcam. My problem started gradually though. First when I opened Camera I could use it, the picture would jump abit and turn blueish I would have to press the top of my screen to stabilize it and make the colour normal again. Now it is completely black. Tried everything installed drivers etc. I'm at a loss now

    Please Help!!!!
