My Infinity VEC USB foot pedal in failing intemittently using DocQScribe under Windows 7 64 bit.  If I restart the computer, it will function again for a while, then fail again after a while.  I ran the troubleshooter and that does not see anything wrong.  I have also tried switching USB ports.  Any suggestions?

My Infinity foot pedal also is working very intermittently. I've tried it on both my laptop and my desktop and have gone through restarting computers several times, plugging and unplugging the foot pedal into various USB ports, re-installing FTR several times, and trouble shooting with Windows -- says my device is working properly -- but with no good results. Usually when I plug and unplug the foot pedal the error message I get is my device is not recognized. So, to address that I have manually updated all windows drivers. Then Windows tells me my drivers are all up to date but still only sometimes the foot pedal works, but mostly it doesn't work.  It seems to stop working almost every time after a WINDOWS critical update is automatically installed/configured on my computer. It is EXTREMELY frustrating but I am typing a 500 page transcript with this happening right now and I have reverted to using the keyboard shortcuts to play and scan backwards and it is taking forever to type this way. I don't know if it's FTR's software  issue or Infinity's issue or Windows updating issues, but it really should be looked into and fixed.

I have someone with the same problem using Winscribe.  Nothing so far is working.  The issue is intermittent.  some days all is well and others are terrible.

I have tried updating USB drivers, reloading Winscribe, changing settings in winscribe for the pedal, disabling virus protection, disabling auto updates, and a few other things.

The next thing may have to be ordering a different pedal if i cant get past this.

I am having the EXACT same issue!  My pedal is only six months old or so.  When I first started having this issue, it was only intermittent and when I would reboot, the pedal would work fine again for a while.  Now, when I load a voice file and press the pedal to start playing it, the voice file plays but the pedal quits working - very strange!  I have worked from home as an MT/QA editor for 15 years, have always used Infinity USB pedals, and have never had this problem.  I am not sure what to do, as I have gone through the troubleshooting, updating of drivers, plugging into different USB port, and even contacted my company's IT department but IT could only get it to work in one program (ImedX Express) and when I switched to a different program, pedal stopped working and I cannot get it to work.  IT disabled virus protection to get it to work but that is not a feasible long-term option.  I am at my breaking point here, as I was barely able to work at all yesterday and already this morning, the pedal is not working.  Does anyone have any suggestions here?  There has to be something going on here since more than one person is having the same issue.

I am not the one who posted the original comment here - but I am having the exact same problem!  I have completed the troubleshooting steps, and am still having persistent trouble.  I would really appreciate some help, as this is really messing up my ability to work!
