I changed default browser from Chrome to IE then back to Chrome and since have been getting this error "Class Not Registered". I uninstalled/installed and the same error persists. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, Keith's suggestion did not work for me either.

What ended up working for me are the following steps:

    1. Hit CTRL + R and type in "misconfig"
    2. Under the Startup tab, click "Open Task Manager"
    3. When that window is open, right-click Google Chrome
    4. Click Properties, then open the Compatibility tab
    5. Hit "Run compatibility troubleshooter"

From this point, Windows should take over, scanning for issues. It should detect and fix, and go straight to asking you to test if the program works.

After I did this it worked for me. Hopefully it does the same for you!

Thanks!  This worked for me.   I first tried without running the compatibility troubleshooter, and it didn't work, but once I ran the troubleshooter it works with no problem.

    Hi Michael,

When exactly do you get this message (i apologize if i over looked this)? Are you able to open the apps from the Start screen okay? For Example the Immersive Internet Explorer.

I have tried to reproduce this and so far i have been unable to.

If you create a new profile (test one), does the same thing happen under that one?

    Give the below a shot:

The process below will place you in a 'clean boot' which only allows Microsoft services to run at boot. This will only prevent 3rd party programs and services from loading at boot.

    From the desktop:

    Press the Windows key +R

In the Run box type msconfig and hit enter

Under the Services tab, place a check in Hide all Microsoft services and hit Disable all

Under the Startup tab click Open Task Manager

Under the Startup tab right-click and disable each Startup item and then close Task Manager

Click Apply/OK on System Configuration screen then restart

Once you are in "clean boot"-do whatever you are doing when you get this message and let's see if this stops the message.

Once you have completed the test, be sure to set your computer back to a normal boot.

    Thanks!
