In the new windows 8.1 it is possible to open apps in different "windows" (i know they are not windows but i don't know what else to call them, its basically 2 or 3 or more separate section on the same screen used for multitasking)  the screen section can be split vertical only as far as i can work out, i would like to know if it is possible to split the vertical sections once created horizontally as i think this will be more useful than adding more thin  vertical sections. also if this is not currently possible would it be possible to make a suggestion to Microsoft to for an update to make it possible

    Hi Matthew,

I would like to inform you that this is not possible in Windows 8.1. You can only view and use the apps in vertical manner.

I would suggest you to refer to the section Using apps side by side of the article to have more knowledge about the issue.
