I know a lot of time has gone by, but I just wanted to say thank you for the solution.  Downloading the AMD ACHI drivers worked for me.   So thank you so much, ChrisTan!

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting the Microsoft Community.

You need a driver for the DVD reader HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT70N. I will help you get this issue resolved as quickly as possible.

To gain clarity, I would have you answer these questions-

    1)      What is the make and model of the computer?

    2)      Do you receive any error message or error code?

    3)      Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?

    Information-

The drivers for the DVD reader are found in the computer manufacturer’s website. I would have you log on to the same and download and install the drivers. It is also advisable to install the chipset drivers first and then proceed with the ones for the DVD reader.

You may ask the computer manufacturer for assistance.

If you have trouble doing the same, then I would have you get back to us with the make and model of the computer and I will help you further.

Additionally, I would also have you install the updates from Windows Update as well.

    Please refer to these steps-

    a)      Open Windows Update and click on “Check for updates”

    b)      Now, install all the updates, especially the “optional updates” as well.

    c)      Check if this helps fix the issue.

If the error pertains to the DVD drive not being recognized (The system doesn't find any longer the driver), then this article should be of help-
