i uninstalled the one i have which is an realtek souund card driver. The reason i want the microsoft sound driver is because it gave me the option to use bass booast, which i liked. i dont seem to understand how to get it back.

If the on-board audio component is recognized as present by Windows 7, it will show in your Device manager display.  It should have an up to date driver installed already.

If you want to use it exclusively as opposed to an installed other sound facility, you will need to disable the one you do not want in Device manager.

You can find Device manager by clicking on the start globe, then typing device manager in the text box that pops up above the start globe.
