Can't Change Text to Speech Voice

I have set my text to speech voice to US David but keep getting UK Hazel. The MS Support person didn't help; the info she sent pertained to adding new voices, not making Windows accept a change to a different voice.

    Hello,

    Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Forums and apology for the delayed response.

    I understand that you are experiencing issue with changing text to speech voice in Speech Recognition. I would certainly help you with this.

    To change the Text-to-Speech voice or engine, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Speech.
    2. On the Te xt-to-Speech tab, the name displayed in the Voice selection drop-down list is the active voice.
    3. Click the active voice inside the drop-down list, or use the arrow to display a list of available voices.
    4. Click a new voice to select it.

    The newly selected voice speaks the text in Preview Voice box. 5. Click OK or Apply to accept the new voice.
