Left 4 Dead 2 and RIFT games keep crsashing at launch!?

Hi

as in the title, both games have issues in windows10, they use to work fine in windows 8.1..

L4D2 started around 18th August, when Windows 10 got a Cumulative update and steam client update @ 12th August, and  since then the game keeps crashing by start with shaderapidx9.dll as source..

The only workaround is to rename a file Fastprox.dll located in syswow64/wbem folder..

And even then it crashes randomly.

The thing is use to work 100% fine before this date and by windows 10 release @ 30th July.

Lots of people have this issue now on steam forums, so its not something random, everyone with windows 10.

Steam client got updated 2 times since then, but no luck.. I also updated nvidia driver numerous times, repaired WMI, sfc scannow, etc but nothing seems to help, so now Im almost 1000% sure its windows10 update that messed up something. Im have US version with SI locale if that matters, but kind of doubt it since it was ok at first..

RIFT game, just crashes by game start when it tries to go in fullscreen, I don't know what's the cause there, it always opens RIFT error reporting, but there were at least 2 updates since then and still no difference.

    So nothing changed yet..

By Rift I almost thought it was fixed, but was just one random lucky try..

The game magically started one time, it happened yesterday when I upgraded my nod32 security to v9, had v8 before... I thought ah this is it, it was blocking something.. nod's 9 new firewall has this firewall troubleshooting thing that somehow had a issue with my router default preassigned IP..

But nope, on next game restart it crashed again by game start, it logs fine and starts but when it tries to go fullscreen framebuffer it crashes after 2-3secodns..

I checked EULA, default was 302, I had it at 303, I've read once changing this fixes it too.. well I changed back to 302 or even 304, but it didn't help either anymore..

I've even went so far and used my old system restore before nod32 security 9 to re-create my old update procedure and unblock my settings again, but no luck..

L4D2 also same old story, unless I rename fastprox.dll file..

Really strange though any other game runs fine.. Only these 2 are having issues and only these 2 I usually like to play the most lately  :\

    which build are you using

    machine details are helpful too

I mentioned all that in 1st reply.

    Retail 10240build, up to date.

I made a screen once; all system specifications.

Im going to try one older driver 353.62 one more time..

But overall  I really regret to update to win10 so soon.. nothing but trouble after trouble, took me a while to finally fix all that was broken at first, mail app, photos app, missing icons in modern start, privileges errors, etc..  :-|

    https://hardcore-games.azurewebsites.net/wp/win/it/fix-steam-games.php

I did even more tough cleanup, even redownloaded whole game, clean install, but it just doesnt want to work anymore, unless I renable fastprox.dll in systemwow64/webm folder
