Nokia Suite 3.8.54 synchronizing tasks/appointments with Outlook 2016 crashes

Hi,

I cannot synchronize my tasks/appointments with outlook 2016. Contacts and messages are no problem. In the options-dialog, the suite tries to use items from Outlook/Outlook\Calendar and Outlook/Outlook\Tasks, pushing the button to change these settings results in the crash. Any hints are welcome.

In the settings page for synchronizing contacts, the folder is described Outlook/Contacts (without the leading Outlook and with a backslash instead of a slash, maybe this is the error).

Where are these settings stored (i.e. registry, options-file), can they be changed outside the suite?

    thank you for your reply. Meanwhile, I've found the settings, they are stored in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Nokia\Nokia Suite\SyncSettings), but changing by hand them did not help.

    I switched back to office2013. There is some other software as well, that doesn't work with the new version, so I have to wait for an update of these programs. Like you, I think, that the Nokia Suite won't be updated any more.

    Hi Herbert,

    It's my impression that Nokia Suite always used more or less 'dirty' hacks to access the Outlook .pst file and not official API's, even when they became available, so the paths to Outlook in the Suite settings are most likely just virtual pointers?

    • There used to be regular updates for Nokia Suite to correct errors in the sync with Outlook when a new Office version were released...

    Microsoft sadly don't care about loss of functionality with Nokia phones, and I don't expect further updates to Nokia Suite.

    Please let us know if you figure out a workaround?

    How did you get back Office 2013? I have an Office 365 subscription …

    Does this help? If you still face problems going back to Office 2013, please, continue there …

    How did you get back Office 2013?

    I have an abonnement with Office 365 and removed office 2016. Downloading again Office from my Office account delivered again Office 2016.
