"Does anyone have a solution to my Star Wars games or stretching my other game? "
Use Win7/8/8.1. Win10 has taken over screen scaling (so phones, notepads, TV's etc can connect without
screen scaling issues), so any game that uses a resolution with a native 4:3 or 5:4 aspect ratio will have black bars.
This is the aspect ratio the game was designed for, and personally I think they look best in their original format,
but I'm not the dictator type and believe in choice.
Monopoly$oft, in spite of the way the promote Windows, does not.
- I believe a lot of people with laptops prefer stretching to full screen, as there have been many people
with laptops asking why they cannot fill the screen.
- If your games are disk based (not a download) , and if you find a file titles
SECDRV.sys when you
Open the CD/DVD. Read on -
The problem with Win10 is not compatibility.
The problem is a dictatorial attitude taken by Big Brother Monopoly$oft towards old disk based game DRM
(copy protection) with a protection racket called DRM Blocking that was foisted on the gaming community
with Win10*.*
MS is trying to convince us that they are protecting the unwary against a possibility of the driver
SECDRV.sys
being invaded by a yet to be produced malware.
They do not allow us to make our own decision or take a risk, by allowing us to disable DRM Blocking.
Meanwhile the hackers keep going at various Windows files, and MS is continually 'fixing' them with other
security updates, so why all the concern for a driver that has never been a problem to date ?
- It's interesting that with the flood of older games being released on download sites such as Steam that MS
has suddenly decided to 'protect' us. Cynical old me expects they may be getting kick backs for this effort.
- Note that Win7/8/8.1 now have a 'security update' - KB3086255 & KB2919355 which subversively installs
the same DRM blocking.
- Fortunately these old DRM never worked anyway, and you can use a noCD fix/hack to circumvent the CD check
and spoil the fun for MS.- You can get one for your games here -
- Or you can bend to MS's will, and buy a new DRM free version of the games from GOG
(they have frequent sales with up to 50-75% off) -
