If Microsoft have TWAIN drivers available, they will be resident at the Microsoft hardware downloads website..
Webcam TWAIN drivers and Windows 7
I have searched the Internet high and low trying to get a definitive answer as to whether LifeCams have a TWAIN driver for Windows 7. As several people on the net have stated, many applications still require a TWAIN driver for webcams to work in their applications even though Windows 7 does not require it. My applications IT department has recommended the HD-6000, HD-3000, or VX-2000 and their TWAIN drivers but I cannot confirm that they have TWAIN drivers.
Do they or not? I'm tired or searching and calling. lol

2013-04-15T10:32:20+00:00 Try this...
Download file from http://progenyes.com/support/videods.zip
Copy the VideoDS.DS file to your C:\windows\TWAIN_32 folder.
Restart PC.
You should have a Twain Device Driver to use !
(this works using my LIFECAM Studio, so should be good for yours.. )

2015-11-20T08:54:56+00:00 I was getting this same error in Windows 10.
I finally right clicked the VideoDS.DS file in the twain_32 folder and discovered the application had come from another computer and had been blocked.
After you unblock it the security message disappears and the error goes away and most importantly - IT WORKS!

I have tried using this VideoDS file in the past. It works great with Windows XP, however, in Windows 7, it will work for 2 or 3 captures, and then I start getting the error "Video DataSource ...is off-line or not responding."
Any thoughts on what might be causing this or how to correct it?

2011-12-09T10:16:29+00:00 Hi,
1. What happens while you connect the webcam?
2. Does your web cam get detected in the computer?
Please provide more information on the issue for better assistance.
The Life cam needs drivers provided by Microsoft only to function properly.
You may download the specific product driver from the Microsoft website and install for the webcam.
