I have not been able to install ANY version of .Net framework for the past 6 months. Google has not helped me at all. I've already tried the support page, no solutions. I tried uninstalling it thinking that would work, but it only made it worse. Now I'm stuck with no .Net framework because I can't install any version, and I can't play one of my favorite games that requires .Net framework, which is Space Engineers

    Nope didn't work.

When I go to the Windows folder, there's actually two software distribution folders

    SoftwareDistribution

    Softwaredistribution.old

So when I renamed the underlined one, it just merged the two folders together

And I couldn't find the .Net framework 3.5, so I probably already uninstalled that a while back

But nope, nothing worked. I tried resetting Windows updates manually, that didn't work also. When I try to re-register the the Bits and Windows updates files, some of them loaded successfully, where some were not found and din't load successfully.

The 0x643 article I've tried many times already, of course none worked

But thank you for trying to help me with my problem

    Hello,

Thank you for providing a detailed information on your issue. I appreciate the step-by-step troubleshooting and the pains you took to resolve your issue. However, there are a few more steps that we can try to diagnose the root cause.

This problem may occur if the temporary folder of windows update has been corrupted. We can refer to the following steps to rename this folder.

    1. Open a **command prompt**and type: net stop wuauserv
    2. Click Start, click Run, type:  %windir% and press Enter.
    3. In the opened folder, rename the SoftwareDistribution folder to SoftwareDistribution.old.
    4. Open a **command prompt**and type: net start wuauserv
    5. Try to install .NET Framework again.

If .NET Framework 4.0 can’t be installed, please attempt to uninstall .NET Framework 3.5 first and then reinstall the .NET Framework.

Also please try to reset Windows Update components manually, please refer to the link below and see if it brings any difference:

If you are getting this error "0x80070643" then you might follow the steps provided in the following article.

.NET Framework update installation error: "0x80070643" or "0x643"

Hope this would help. If issue still persists post back with current status of your computer and result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to assist you.

    Regards,
