How to reset FreeCell stats in Microsoft Solitaire Collection.

There does not appear to be an option to reset the played statistics in the new Free Cell game. Even though I have found several mentions of patch notes that seem to suggest that resetting of stats was added some time in 2014.

I have read several of these help threads, most of them are years old, but there does not appear to be an answer.

So here we go, how do I reset the game statistics for the Free Cell game in the Microsoft Solitaire Collection? It is being run in Windows 10 and the stats are being saved online (or as it is called now, "The Cloud", so stupid).

Yes there is a "Reset" button in the game options menu, but it only resets game options, not game statistics.

Yes you can load the game statistics screen, but there is no way to reset them from there.

I uninstalled the Solitaire collection then reinstalled it. Stats remained.

I have deleted all files associated with Solitaire Collection, and deleted all registry entries(also known as a manual uninstall). Stats remained.

I have logged into XBOX live and looked for a ways to delete all of my saved stats, could not find any such thing.

If there is no way to actually reset the stats, then just tell me so I can find a new game to play.

    Here's the solution:

Please open the File Explorer and go to:

    C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftSolitaireCollection_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\UserData

If you are a guest, please go to Guest\Statistic

And the same way if you have a Microsoft account

    Than delete "Statistic.ark".

Now you can notice that game statistics have returned as they were.

In Windows 10, the only way I know of to do this is to uninstall the Microsoft Solitaire Collection app, then go back into the Microsoft Store and reinstall it again. It's worked for me.

I can't understand why Microsoft seems to have removed the reset statistics option from the Windows 10 Solitaire app.  If they haven't, where is it?

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand you are not able to reset the FreeCell game statistics, Please follow the link given below:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/games\_windows\_10/for-help-with-gaming-issues/9851613d-15f2-4e5d-992c-febd3d5d9221?tm=1438143787542

I hope this helps you to fix the issue. If the issue persists or you have any other issues with Windows, please do post it in Microsoft Community. We would be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

    Hello Deepak K,

You clearly understand the problem:  "I understand you are not able to reset the FreeCell game statistics", yet the link you provided is completely unhelpful.  I am not the first person to make this comment.  Did it ever occur to you that if someone takes the time to initiate a post, they probably would like a Microsoft employee to help them with the issue?  Did it ever occur to you that you should follow this thread and read the comments to your posts?  If customers are saying the link is worthless, perhaps clarify your answer or explain why (how) the link resolves the issue.  My guess is you just posted the link so you could mark this issue as "resolved" in your employee stats go up (those used by HR to evaluate your performance).  It was worthless to all customers seeking a solution.

This thread has languished since 2015, and it is now 2018.  The problem persists!  Perhaps you should follow-up with an actual solution!  Or better yet, forward this issue to a Microsoft employee that will actually take the time to find a solution to the problem.  Then, PLEASE submit your resignation.  If you're unclear on how to draft a resignation letter, follow this informative link:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/my-resignation-letter/9nblggh020f0?SilentAuth=1&wa=wsignin1.0.

To any Microsoft employee (other Deepak K) who reads these forums.  Customers - meaning the people that purchase your software - come here to find real answers.   There are many examples of forum questions where a Microsoft employee posts a worthless link- with zero follow-up - and this issue remains unresolved for years.   Customers keep experiencing the exact same problem.

I suggest there are two option:  1) Delete the forums altogether, and provide one simple Help link for all issues, which says: "Microsoft could give a **** about your problem".  This would save everyone a lot of time, and would result in a cost savings to Microsoft, or 2) Actually make these forums meaningful - which requires follow-up, and true customer support by Microsoft staff.  I think Microsoft is very close to option 1 right now, but most customers would greatly prefer option 2.

Why wasn't the reset game stats options included from the beginning? Surely making games frustrating for gamers, for no reason whatsoever, isn't helping anyone! The reset stats problem still has not been solved or even addressed by Microsoft! One can only assume that Microsoft simply don't care about gamers concerns! I FEEL TOTALLY LET DOWN!

If you go to the Daily Challenges in the Solitaire Collection, under the coming soon tab it advises that a title update is coming which will include the stat reset ability.
