Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7601 "This copy of Windows is not genuine" error

Anonymous

Last night, as I shut down my PC, there was a windows update installation that occurred. This morning, when I boot up my machine, I had an error message telling me that my copy of Windows was not genuine and that I needed to apply a new activation key.

I attempted to system restore to a restore point from a few days ago, and I receive a different error telling me that the restore did not complete successfully with an unspecified error 0xc0000022

I had this computer assembled and the person of which that built it for me used a legitimate copy of Win7 Ultimate to install. I have had this computer for almost a year now without having any issues until today.

Tell me what I need to do to give more information, so as I can fix this error.

-Regards

Im sorry it has taken me this long to file any response. I have had some -other issues- that I had to take care of.

This issue has not been solved yet.

    HI Robert,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

This is likely caused by a corrupted file. I suggest you to download and run the Genuine Diagnostics tool (MGADiag.exe) at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012.

Click "Continue", click the "Copy" button then “Paste” the report into a reply message in this thread.

You may also refer to suggestions provided by Noel D Paton in the thread link below.

Please download Speccy and upload a copy of the report it produces to OneDrive and post a link here:. It helps to obtain the report at a time when the system is under pressure and temperatures may be higher than normal:

I downloaded the diagnostic tool and ran it. Ironic enough, I read over another post that was similarly related and saw that the person of whom posted their response had almost the exact same information I did. Here is my diagnostic response.
