What is a Network Controller in Devices?

I could not connect wirelessly.  I went into Device Manager and it showed a yellow exclamation mark on Network Controller.  I went on a wild goose chase trying to find out how to fix and could never got an answer.  This will give you a laugh.  I had been moving my computers around.  When I moved this one I looked at the back to see if it had a wireless adapter attached and it did.  Wait, no it didn't.  It was for the wireless mouse!  Why can't they color those a little different so this doesn't happen?) So then I installed my wireless adapter and wow internet.  The thing is there is still a yellow exclamation mark on my Network Controller.  Am I going to run into trouble later on down the road?

The network controller you're seeing is for the Ethernet adapter.  If you're not using an Ethernet network connection (a wired connection), you don't have to worry about it.

Thank you.  I have put a note in my "computer folder" so the next time I see that I will remember what it is for.
