How do I format a Cd RW? I have tried all the Windows advice and spent over 4 hours discussing with Tech help. Autoplay does not appear despite clicking on

    Hi,

You would need a CD\DVD burning program to do that...

I don't think any of the Windows burning features have the option to "Format" a CD-RW...

Why do you want to format it ?

I tried a new CD-RW, and then one with data on it, which while files were listed they would not open. so i deleted to try to load new data,  Both times the same pop up appeared.  I have other used CD-RW, with data which opens OK.Tried to follow MS stated process, but despite setting Autoplay "on" it did not appear, so could not get further or try to load data.. MS techs (contacted three different ones) all had different suggestions, but none said that  I needed more software. System says Drive D Ok, and driver up to date.

    Thanks,

    Tony

    Hi,

Is this a blank disk or does it have something on it already ?

How are you trying to make the backup ?

Sorry about all the questions, but something seems weird...
