Hmm... well, I got it working. While I did find your suggestions helpful I don't believe they were necessary. See, I misplaced my USB cable a little back and ordered a new one, only to find it the day before it arrived. After using what I thought would become a spare... the drivers installed immediately as it was meant to in the 1st place. I guess it was that cable after all. Either way, I thank you for the help.
Elgato HD game capture not installing drivers on Windows 8.
I recently purchased and Elgato HD and upon setting everything up, my device does not appear in the Elgato HD software. All cords and the device itself seem to work fine, as my game feed still appears on the television screen and only does this when connected to the computer via USB. I've been led to believe by a few other friends who also own and Elgato HD the drivers are supposed to install automatically once plugged into the computer, and this has not happened once.
I'm using an Acer computer, quite obviously Windows 8, and don't get any error messages excluding the 'no capture devices found' in the software. Please let me know if you need to know anything else if it may resolve my issue.
