Hi,
The copy and paste keys are Windows keys by default and cannot be re-configured or the function cannot be re-assigned to other keys.

Hope this helps.

I would like to learn how to change the copy/paste hotkeys for the entire computer rather than for a specific program such as excel or internet explorer. Specifically, I want to change the copy and paste button from control C (2 buttons) to just F1 (1 stroke), if possible. Thanks in advance for the reply!

I might literally switch to Mac because of this inconvenience. My work makes me copy and paste all the time. For copy and paste, alt+c and v would be WAY easier than ctrl + c
"hope this helps" you made it worse for him
Yes - I did resolve!!!
As far as I've learned, it can't be changed through the windows OS itself; but I did resolve this by using two work-arounds.
1) Bought a mouse with seven keys/assignable key-strokes and downloaded the Logitech SetPoint software. Used SetPoint to assign copy and paste to the two thumb buttons (e.g., buttons 4 & 5, I think)

---> See example for Logitech M510 mouse ---> http://support.logitech.com/en\_gb/product/wireless-mouse-m510
2) I downloaded AutoHotkey, and learned how to write a simple macro to assign the keys control+V to a single key that I do not use frequently (i.e., F1 & F2, but I can assign them to any key or key combination). Also, I can turn the macro off if I'm in a program where I need to use those keys.
Hopefully this helps you - it has definitely helped me!!!
Did you ever resolve this issue?
I just switched to a windows computer and cant believe I cannot make copy alt+c
