I too am having the exact same problem.  This started in mid-December or thereabouts.  Upon each reboot or restart of the PC, when I get to the desktop screen, I get the same error message as described above (including the message that says "Another instance is running.")  System seems to work fine but there is the notion lurking in the back of my mind that something is not right and it is troubling that this happens on startup before I have done anything and the PC session should be fresh and uncluttered.

I too am having this problem, Yashwanth. It appears at the start up screen, saying "Another Instance is Running" and below "Configuration System Failed to Initialize". It has been happened for several weeks. My computer seems to working normally except for occasional crashes caused by "Reference to Pointer." The message on the blue screen says that it will restart, but it never restarts. I have to reboot it. Maybe these problems are connected, maybe not, but I'd appreciate some help with both of them.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

Regret the inconvenience you have experienced.

Are you getting this error message after reaching Desktop screen?

Did you made any changes on your PC? Like installing application or games

Since when this started to happen?

What are the items set to startup?

Give us above information to assist you in this regard.

I have the same exact problem - mine just started a couple of weeks ago and noticed after activating window live essentials for a class I'm taking.  Other than that I have not added or deleted anything.
