- Are you getting error message/code while connecting USB Bluray/DVD? If yes, please provide me the exact error message/code?
- Do you have any security software installed?
If I understand you correctly USB device is not getting detected by your computer. The issue may arise if the currently loaded USB driver has become unstable or corrupt or if your PC requires an update for issues that may
conflict with a USB device and Windows. This may also occur if your USB controllers may have become unstable or corrupt. So, I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if the issue persists.
Method 1:
Please try the fixit(s) provided below which will help you resolve common issues related to USB ports and devices.
If Method 1 does not help, try method 2.
Method 2:
Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.
- Open Device Manager by pressing Windows key + X and select
device manager from the list. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
- In the list of hardware categories, find and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers.
- Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click
Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
- Restart the computer, and let the USB controllers get reinstalled.
- Plug in the removable USB device, and then test to make sure that the issue is resolved.
If the issue still exists, proceed to Method 3.
Method 3:
Disable USB selective suspend setting. This method prevents your USB device from powering down.
- Press Windows key + Q, type power plan in the Search box, then click
Choose a power plan.
- Next to your currently selected plan, click Change Plan Settings.
- Click Change advanced power settings.
- Click the box to expand USB Settings, then expand
USB selective suspend settings.
- Click Plugged in, then click the drop down menu and select
disabled.
- If you're using a laptop, click Battery, then click the drop down menu and select
disabled.
- Click Apply, then click OK.
