Microsoft keyboard requires passcode to connect

I'm probably in the wrong section here but couldn't find a hardware/accessory category...I've got a Microsoft Sculpt keyboard that I've used for quite some time.  For an unknown reason, my Bluetooth connection was interrupted.  Upon walking through the simple reconnect process, it is asking for a passcode.  I don't remember needing a passcode during the original setup and therefore do not have a passcode.  I've tried 1111, 1234, and every possible combination of serial number, model number etc.  All failed.  Is it time to throw it in the trash, or is there some way to get it reconnected?

    Hi,

Thanks for the update on the issue. I appreciate your efforts towards trying to resolve the issue

This might be if the passkey verification was turned off earlier for Bluetooth on your computer.

    Follow this step:

    Method 1: Reconnect the device.

Step 1: Launch the OSK (On Screen keyboard)

Right click on the bottom left corner (task bar)

    1. Click on Control Panel.
    2. Go to Ease of Access
    3. Click On-Screen Keyboard.

Step 2: Add the keyboard through keyboard.

    1. Type Control Panel
    2. Click Control Panel from the search results
    3. Click Add a device.

    Method 2:

    1. Open Control Panel by clicking the Windows + X,
    2. In the Control Panel search box, type Bluetooth, and then clickChange Bluetooth settings.
    3. In theBluetooth Settings dialog box, click theOptions tab and do any of the following:
    4. To make your computer discoverable to Bluetooth enabled devices, select the check box forAllow Bluetooth devices to find this computer.
    5. To allow you to add Bluetooth enabled devices to your computer, select the check box forAllow Bluetooth devices to connect to this computer.
    6. To be notified when a Bluetooth enabled device is trying to connect to your computer, select the check box forAlert me when a new Bluetooth device wants to connect.

Thanks for the suggestion Ankit.  Unfortunately the solutions did not work for me.  What I continue to run up against is that I do not have a passkey.  The very first thing that happens when the computer finds the keyboard and I select it to pair is that a window pops up asking for a passkey.  I cannot type anything with the Sculpt keyboard and any combination of numbers I've with another keyboard are wrong.  There are no other options for getting it connected.  Without a passkey, the window closes and that's it!  Do you have any other ideas?

    Roger
