Minesweeper will not open

I upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows Vista a few days ago. Today, I tried to play minesweeper and it will not work. I looks like it tries to open it but nothing happens. It will open all other microsoft games on the computer, just not minesweeper. I watched the process in my task manager and I can see it trying to open. Two new processes come on when I try to open it, "Minesweeper: executable for minesweeper" and "werfault.exe:windows error reporting." I looked in the event viewer and copied what was wrote in there. I'm not sure if this can help anyone figure out what the cause is or not.

try reducing the resolution of your monitor.  your video card may not be able to process all at the higher resolutions above 1280X720.

    worked for me.

I've done some research and I believe driver version 8.573.0.0 does belong to the 9.1 updated driver from ATI. I tried downloading the 10.2 version. It downloaded fine and said it installed without error but when I check my display driver in device manager, it still says i have version 8.573.0.0. I'm not sure why this is and if I have to manually install the driver, which I don't know how to do!!!

I installed some drivers, I believe. I downloaded something called Catalyst Control Center 9.1 and I thought that installed some drivers but I'm not positive if it actually did anything. I did look on ATI's website for Windows 7 drivers but couldn't find out exactly what it was I needed. I have no experience installing drivers. Under device manager, I have told it to update the driver for display adapter and it tells me that I have the current upgrade already.

For Display Adapter, I have ATI Radeon X1200, driver version: 8.573.0.0

Have you installed the Windows 7 video drivers from ATI after the upgrade?
